SCOTTISH DESIGN AWARDS 2008

Elmwood have been active in interior contracting in Scotland since 1972, when the company was founded as a bespoke joinery manufacturer, capable of taking on a wide range of projects, all of which required workmanship of high quality. We have worked hard to maintain our standards of service and quality to an ever increasing client base, many of whom have shown us great loyalty over a number of years, and Elmwood continues to grow steadily, following well controlled expansion plans established in the early days of the business.

The evolution of Elmwood since 1972 has seen the group expand to become not only a principal player in the Scottish interiors market, well respected for our skills in bespoke joinery manufacturing and shopfitting, but also a growing presence in construction and property development. Our joiners are all employed in-house, enabling us to keep tight control of quality and our contract management team has a well integrated blend of youth and experience.

The range of our portfolio is also expanding and we have become particularly well known for our work in the hotel, leisure, office, commercial and shopfitting sectors while always keeping our modern 16,500 sq.ft. joinery workshop fully occupied with the manufacturing of some very interesting, unusual and exciting pieces.

As a further step towards giving something back to our industry, Elmwood have signed up as sponsors of the ‘Best Interior’ category at the Scottish Design Awards 2008, and it is our hope that we can stimulate the best designers working in Scotland, many of whom we have worked alongside, to seek the recognition their work deserves.
