Judges

Each brief is set by a company offering a work placement.  Each company then sends a representative to the judging panel.  They are:

Mark Beaumont, Creative Director, Dinosaur

8 years ago I founded Dinosaur and, as a Creative Director, I’ve worked for loads of great brands including The Co-operative, Alton Towers, Npower, Selfridges and the timeless Michael Ball.

Before that, I got all creative in three North West agencies over a 10 year period, most significantly for KLP/EuroRSGG where, I did work for Warburton’s, Marks & Spencer, Smirnoff and Bass.

Career highlights would include hiring a Robbie Williams look-a-like from Wales – for an Epson video – and discovering his make-up artist was none other than Visage legend, Steve Strange.

Stephen Woowat, Elmwood

Stephen graduated from Staffordshire University in 2005 after completing a 3 year course in graphic design. Responding to, and winning a brief set out by Elmwood for the Student Roses Awards, Stephen was awarded a placement and joined permanently shortly after. Outside work, Stephen enjoys satisfying a craving for bad action films at the cinema, and creating an uncomfortable noise with a harmonica.

Harinder Bajwa, Love Creative

Hari graduated from the University of Central Lancashire in 2003, having picked up a student D&AD pencil during his time there.  His first industry job was at BJL, producing more award winning work (including Campaign poster, New York Festivals and London Internationals) for clients such as British Airways and John West.  Following four years at BJL, Hari joined LOVE as a copywriter in November 2007.

Dave Bell, Poulters

David started his creative career in London, working at agencies such as Lowe Howard Spink and Leo Burnetts, working on Tesco, McDonalds, Nikon and CNN to name but a few. Growing tired of the city paved in gold, David moved to Wieden and Kennedy Amsterdam for 4 years where he led creative for Vodafone and Coca Cola before moving back to England and Poulters.

David has won an award or two in his time, including Cannes Lions, One Shows, British Television Awards, D&ADs, BTAAs, Leuries, Aerials and swimming badges galore.

Don Smith, The Union Advertising Agency

If you Google 'Don Smith' it responds with a link to the website of a Florida Businessman who builds high powered, stealth speedboats for the American military. With the deepest regret, I am not him.

Karl Sanderson, Creative Director, VIvid

Karl Sanderson has over 12 years in the advertising & communication design business working for several top ten multi national agencies including Ogilvy & DDB. This award winning creative director started his career as an art director in London before returning to his native North to work at Propaganda, Fanatic and Uber before taking a creative director role at Vivid.
