Dundee is a city that is cultivating an international reputation in the field of digital development. And while it is this sector that is gaining the plaudits, the other creative disciplines in Dundee are slicing more than a fair share of the client cake too. The Drum visited the City of Discovery to find out more.

Dundee is a city that was once standing still, stuck in the rut of its former glories.
Having promoted itself as a forward thinking city in the mid-nineties, the City of Discovery was feeling around to discover a sustainable industry rock to grasp hold of as it climbed out of this rut. 

Over this last decade the city has carved a niche speciality in biomedical, technology and digital areas. The city’s universities saw the niche that was being carved and offered the resource to help launch some of Britain’s top technical teams, some who would go on to, for example, create the world’s most influential video games.
