There is much more to the South West than unusual accents, some old stones standing in a field and the ‘hit’ ITV1 soap Echo Beach. With more than 100 business support networks and over 10,000 creative businesses the South West remains a hotbed of UK creativity. The Drum takes a quick look under the duvet.
Be it Banksy and his world-renowned graffiti, the shock and awe art of Damien Hirst or the pioneering sounds of Massive Attack, the South West has a pedigree of being the birthplace for some of the country’s most celebrated creative talent.
According to the South West Regional Development Agency, which provides funding to new and existing media agencies, this rich creative breeding ground owes much to the ‘world class’ infrastructure the region has in place.
