The cobbler’s children

The Drum asked a clutch of agencies to take a click through the websites of their peers and rivals to give each a critical assessment. The results were as honest as they were educational.

Hypocrites. Preaching the gospel of communication while failing to heed its words themselves.

It’s long been a problem in the marketing industry that, so busy are we selling clients on the merits of communication, we forget to take our own advice.

We know the excuses; “We’re too busy working on our clients’ sites and briefs to work on our own.” They may have a point, and if they can demonstrate their technical know-how and examples of gloriously successful projects in other ways, then maybe it doesn’t matter.
