Having grown The Direct Marketing Group through a series of acquisitions, CEO Martin Smith had planned to float his business soon, but a worsening stock-market climate has apparently prevented him going straight to sell.

In October, during an interview with The Drum, The Direct Marketing Group’s CEO, Martin Smith, revealed his plan to make the group AIM listed in 2008.

Just a few months further down the line, as the group moves in on two acquisitions, Smith’s plans have changed. At the beginning of March, he told The Drum that he now had no immediate plans to float the company and instead would be looking to alternative funding streams.
