As this issue of The Drum was going to press the global economy continued to be in a state of severe upheaval. In the UK the Lloyds TSB take over of HBOS was faltering, Prime Minister Gordon Brown was promising a £37billion bailout package and RBS boss Fred Goodwin, well, he was simply bailing out.
