Headrest advertising takes off with Glasgow Airport taxi fleet

The Headrest Advertising Company has secured a deal with Renfrewshire Council to kit out the Glasgow Airport taxi fleet with its LCD plasma advertising screens.
The company, founded by Douglas Robertson, in conjunction with Claremont Office Interiors, has filed for a worldwide patent for its latest venture, which will allow advertisers to run commercials on plasma screens installed in the back of taxi headrests.
Robertson said: "It is an opportunity to up-weight traditional media spend, be it television, radio or press. We have targeted the airport with the data player because of the customer base - business people and tourists - utilising the taxis.
"If you are sitting in the back of a taxi you are going to watch it. It is literally in-your-face."
The company plans to roll out the technology across the UK.
