Dowcarter continues expansion plan with aquisition of GBnet

Edinburgh-based digital communications agency Dowcarter has bought over London-based Web agency GBnet in the latest stage in its expansion.
GBnet’s client list is mainly in the travel and leisure sector, although it also includes financial services companies such as Bell Pottinger Financial.
The acquisition is the second since Dowcarter first expanded to London in 2000. In March 2001 the agency took over Clear Cut, an Edinburgh-based agency that specialises in marketing international whisky groups.
Rupert Valpy, CEO of Dowcarter, said: “Following the successful integration of the Clear Cut portfolio and team, I am delighted to be welcoming GBnet, led by travel specialist Richard Gwynn, to Dowcarter.
“The acquisition brings a great opportunity to provide a secure, supportive infrastructure, allowing us to build on the outstanding work they have delivered since 1995.”
Dowcarter is also reportedly in the final stages of acquiring a third business.
