Scottish Widows creative to head north of border?

Scottish Widows has appointed Peter Jordan as marketing director in a move that could result in the creative account moving back to Scotland.
Jordan, who was previously with Skandia Life, has been charged with creating a new brand advertising campaign as part of his new role. He will be responsible for marketing Scottish Widows to both consumers and IFAs, along with Lloyds TSB’s branch network. His appointment follows the departure of Andy Frepp, who is now sales and marketing director at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership.
Currently, WWAV Rapp Collins Scotland and DraftWorldwide handle all below-the-line work. The media account is currently held by ZenithOptimedia. Citigate Albert Frank, the incumbent advertising agency, will create brand ads for the first quarter of 2004.
However, the changes in management that have been made suggest that there will be a review of the work throughout the group, with Jordan admitting that he would be reviewing all aspects of the business as part of his role. Industry sources speculate that the creative account may, in time, come back to Scotland. The account is currently worth £1 million.
