IPA praises fiftieth year in business for McConnells

Derby-based McConnells is celebrating this month after notching up 50 years in the business. It opened its doors in 1953 as part of a Dublin-based group of the same name and secured independence in 1976.
Hamish Pringle, the IPA’s director general enthused: “To have survived for 50 years is a great achievement in any business sector, but to have done so within the advertising industry really says something for the consistency, tenacity and creativity of an agency.”
Delighted with the milestone, MD Robert Eley said, “We’ve never really had the burst in business of some of the more high profile agencies, but we’ve managed to survive in the bad times and enjoy the good times without going over the top.”
