Co-op gives Brilliant Manchester its first big win with £1.7m travel brief

The Co-operative Travel Trading Group, the body formed earlier this year to market the five individual Co-op travel businesses, is looking to Manchester’s newest media independent Brilliant to handle it’s seven figure media brief.
CTTG handed the business to Brilliant following a three way pitch against Universal McCann and Media Options, both of whom have worked with the Co-op travel businesses in the past.
The brief has the potential to be worth far more for the firm, as the £1.7m figure covers only CTTG’s initial post Christmas burst of activity. Speaking about the decision to charge Brilliant with handling the group’s first campaign, CTTG’s Jane Cart said: “This appointment is an important element in our test bed for the development of a centralised media strategy for the travel businesses behind CTTG. Between them they account for annual sales of £1.3 billion and over 10 per cent of the package holiday market in the UK.”
