Hull-based pharmaceutical giant Smith & Nephew has started the search for agencies to support the global marketing of its unique IV 3000 product.
The IV 3000, which is an intravenous fixation dressing, is the third largest product in the firm’s global healthcare portfolio.
At present, three agencies have been invited to pitch for the business, including Leeds’ Thompson (formerly Thompson Design). The team will now be fighting it out against at least two other confirmed firms, one from London and the other from the US.
Thompson’s MD, Phil Dean, said of the development, “We were delighted to be asked to pitch for this work – we have already helped launch the new Smith & Nephew corporate brand in the UK and this brief builds on that work.”
Although Dean was unable to confirm the details of the pitch process as Adline went to press, it is thought that they will occur this month, with a decision expected early in the New Year. If successful, the win will mark a further step in the agency’s development since Dean joined earlier this year.
