GMG appoint Brilliant to handle Smooth campaign

Guardian Media Group Radio has appointed Brilliant in Manchester to manage the £1 million media campaign for the launch of its new station Smooth FM.
The March launch of Smooth FM, which is replacing the Jazz FM brand, will be supported by a TV and outdoor advertising campaign across the station’s Northwest of England transmission area.
Brilliant’s Manchester office will create a campaign that will provide huge awareness of the station sound with the 5.3 million potential adult listeners. The announcement comes following the appointment of Clear Marketing to create a brand identity and launch advertising campaign for the station.
Speaking of the appointment, GMG Radio Chief Executive John Myers said: \"Brilliant know the Northwest marketplace better than most and will create a rollout campaign that gives Smooth FM maximum exposure to its potential audience.\"
Brilliant’s Chief Executive, Steve Lane added, \"We are of course delighted with this latest win. GMG are a highly progressive and dynamic media company and Smooth FM will be a very high profile media brand launch. We will be planning a mixed media campaign that delivers real impact and results for the new station\".
