Birmingham-based agency Onbrand has bowed out of the industry, following the decision taken to place the company into voluntary liquidation. Onbrand was launched 14 years ago by managing director Rebecca Battman and has recently been working with Robert Horne, Prodrive and Subaru World Rally team.
Explaining the decision made by the directors, Battman said: “We were looking at a very difficult trading picture for the next six months and decided to close the business down at a point where it would have the least impact on staff, clients and suppliers. I was not prepared to carry on trading if I knew we could be exposing ourselves, and others, to an unacceptable level of financial risk. I took decisive, pre-emptive action at the earliest opportunity.”
She added: “We are all very sad that this has happened. However, there comes a time in our personal and professional lives when we need to take a brave decision to move on. Many people who worked at Onbrand over the years have done that already and spawned new businesses that do some fantastic creative work. Great things will come out of this whole experience for all those who played a part in Onbrand.”
