MW has the force for Star Wars PR

Mason Williams has been appointed to promote the Hasbro Star Wars Toy range, coinciding with the release of the original trilogy on DVD.
The PR agency has been tasked with promoting a range of original toys from the sci-fi adventure classic, which include Luke Skywalker, Yoda and R2D2, along with Han Solo’s ship the Millennium Falcon and Darth Vader’s light sabre. Mason Williams was appointed without a pitch, following a variety of successful campaigns that the company has completed on Beyblade and other “youth properties”.
Account director Gawen Higgins said: “It’s great to add a brand like Star Wars to our growing portfolio of boys’ accounts. I was there the first time around and I admit to being a little bit of a Star Wars geek so I’m particularly looking forward to working on this account.”
The firm also recently collected the brief for the Transformers range of toys.
