Energy Saving Trust Consolidates

The Energy Saving Trust, the organisation addressing the effects of climate change, has appointed Consolidated Communications to handle its PR in Scotland.
Consolidated won a four-way pitch for the account, which combines EST’s consumer, B2B and public affairs briefs across the UK.
EST has appointed a sole agency in order to streamline its PR roster, which formerly included Consolidated for consumer PR, Luther Pendragon for B2B work – subcontracting to Proscot PR in Scotland – and Hill & Knowlton for corporate and public affairs.
Mike Thornton, head of EST Scotland, said: “The core proposal for our PR activity is to encourage people to change their behaviour when it comes to energy use. We are committed to making people more energy efficient in their homes and on the roads in order to cut carbon emissions and therefore prevent long-term climate change, which could have disastrous impacts on Scotland’s climate.”
Will Holt, director of Consolidated Communications, said: “Our brief hinges on getting people to act today in order to save tomorrow’s environment. We’re thrilled to have scooped the entire EST brief. It’s an important win for us. Together with our Scottish Executive business, it demonstrates Consolidated’s real ability to deliver impactful behavioural change campaigns.”
