Irn-Bru gives Burt greener PR brief

Following a four-way pitch, Burt Greener Communications has been appointed to manage public relations for Irn-Bru in England.
Burt Greener will provide PR support for the £5m ‘Phenomenal’ campaign, as part of the biggest-ever marketing drive for Irn-Bru South of the Border, which commencethis month. The Glasgow-based agency pitched against three English-based PR firms to win the account.
The nationwide activity is part of an integrated marketing campaign delivered by The Leith Agency, PHD Media and Zak Facta.
Burt Greener has been retained by Barr Soft Drinks to manage PR for Irn-Bru as well as corporate communications for Barr Soft Drinks in Scotland since summer 2004.
Lorna Burt said: “Irn Bru is a fantastic account to work on, and since our appointment in Scotland, we have developed a strong understanding of the brand and a great relationship with the team at Barr Soft Drinks. Winning the UK business is an exciting challenge, and we are very much looking forward to starting work on what will undoubtedly be a fantastic campaign.”
