WWAV appoints Ulke as new boss

WWAV Rapp Collins Edinburgh has appointed Jane Ulke as its new managing director.
Ulke, currently a director of the Marketing Society Scotland, takes up the role this week.
Commenting on the appointment, WWAV Rapp Collins group CEO, Chris Gordon, said: “Jane is a highly talented, broad based marketer. She has extensive public sector expertise, is an experienced consultant and has started and run her own agency. In an era where direct marketing is strategically key for clients but where it must increasingly operate in a multi-channel environment she is ideally placed to take the agency forward.”
He added: “Her challenge will not just be to consolidate on the agency’s core DM skills but to develop and enhance its digital, data and media capabilities, thus extending its market leading position in the Scottish marketplace.”
Involved in her current role with the Marketing Society Scotland since the autumn of 2004, Ulke has latterly been building a commercial sponsorship portfolio for the Society as well as providing freelance consultancy.
Ulke founded her own agency, Marketing Mechanics, in 1995, offering strategic communications consultancy and project management. The agency provided clients with strategic research, marketing campaign planning, brand/identity development, direct marketing and internal communications consultancy.
In 2000 Ulke also launched Event Mechanics into the conference and events sector, most notably helping Scottish Rugby to develop its brand by adding value to the supporter experience.
Before launching her own agency, Ulke was head of marketing at Scottish Homes – now Communities Scotland – and previously worked on the brand development and planning team for the launch of Scottish Enterprise.
Commenting on her appointment, Ulke said: “I’m delighted to be joining one of Scotland’s pre-eminent marketing agencies. WWAV Edinburgh has an enviable reputation for producing highly effective, award winning, creatively driven marketing campaigns and I am very excited about being given the opportunity to take it on to the next stage of its development.”
