Young commemorated by DMA with launch of The Young Spark Award

One of the leading lights in the direct marketing industry has been commemorated with the launch this week of an award to encourage a new generation of direct marketers.
The Young Spark Award, in memory of former WWAV Rapp Collins Edinburgh boss John Young, was launched at DMA Scotland’s Annual Conference in Edinburgh.
John Young, who died in June at the age of 38, was recognised as one of DM’s foremost practitioners and the DMA was keen to honour his talent with an award which encourages new blood in the industry.
David Metcalfe, chairman of DMA Scotland, said: “John was an inspiring individual who made his mark in our industry with his drive, vision and professionalism. He was a self confessed dyed-in-the-wool direct marketer and the most appropriate way to honour him was to launch this award to find the brightest young sparks in our industry.”
