Scottish Press Photography Awards handed out

The inaugural First ScotRail Scottish Press Photography Awards were presented by First Minister Jack McConnell at a ceremony at Our Dynamic Earth last week. The awards have been resurrected by 3x1 Public Relations who were also the event organisers.
Harry Benson, the world-renowned Scottish photographer, travelled from his home in New York to collect the Lifetime Achievement Award.
From over 3000 entries, 38 photographers and two newspapers were short-listed across 11 categories. David Cheskin (example, left) of the PA was named Photographer of the Year.
All finalists and winners can be viewed at www.scottishppa.com.
