Elmwood Leeds’s managing director, Jayne Barrett is to leave the business after six years to set up her own company. The agency has announced that Nick Ramshaw –managing director of Elmwood Edinburgh – will take over in September.
Barrett’s new company will specialise in learning and organisational development, which has been her main focus for Elmwood over the past six months. Elmwood chairman, Jonathan Sands is keen to establish a robust learning culture for the firm’s 70-plus staff and has worked closely with Barrett in putting a plan in motion. He commented: “The plan that Jayne has put together is really exciting and covers every possible aspect of career development from both a corporate and a personal perspective, and will underpin our desire to enter ‘The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies to Work For’.”
Barrett’s new company will be contracted to deliver and implement Elmwood’s learning plan, as well as working with a range of other clients.
Ramshaw has impressed while at the helm in Scotland and will continue to oversee the Edinburgh office’s operation until a replacement is found. Sands remarked: “We are actively looking for a replacement for Nick in Edinburgh and have a couple of people in mind, but again, would also consider using this opportunity to step change our growth by acquiring a small business if necessary to add the skills we are looking for to the mix.”
The changes coincide with the announcement that Don Landers, managing director of Elmwood London, is to leave the consultancy for client-side senior marketing role. Brand innovation director, Greg Taylor will take over in the interim while Sands searches for Landers’ successor.
