Metro and newspaper free gifts are some of Britain's favourtie freebies

Scots are the biggest freebie fanatics in Britain according to a recent survey, with 80% of Scottish consumers admitting to searching for free offers.
According to a poll of over 2,000 adults across Great Britain, the Metro newspaper, distributed free every week day to commuters, is the Britain's third favourite freebie with 25 per cent, while fourth was free CDs and DVDs from newspapers, also at 25 per cent.
The survey was conducted by mobile phone firm Orange, who found that the favourite British freebies were free text messages (28 per cent) followed by free mobile phone calls (27 per cent).
The same survey found that while Scots were the largest group for seeking out free offers, people from Lancashire were the most likely to snub such offers (30 per cent).
Other freebies voted into the top ten were Interest free credit cards (21 percent), free music downloads (15 per cent) and free coffee (eight per cent).
Included in the top ten Dream freebies were council services (24 per cent), public transport (ten per cent) and water (four per cent).
Philip Mehl, managing director of sales and communications at Orange Broadband commented; “whether it’s hunting out online bargains or benefiting from loyalty schemes, Britons have always been savvy shoppers. But, never have freebies been so prevalent. Be it media, telephony and now broadband, Brits really are becoming spoilt for choice.”
