Reading Room wins royal digital brief and Learning Skills project

Reading Room has created a new look for the official website for The Prince of Wales.
The Manchester-based agency was briefed with delivering a contemporary look for the www.princeofwales.gov.uk site. Interactive features and subscription-based content has been created as well as flash games and broadband content.
To mark the launch of the site, a short film was made by Clarence House called \'Away Day\' charting the progress of The Prince of Wales and his wife, The Duchess of Cornwall, as they carried out official visits around Birmingham.
Margaret Manning, managing director of Reading Room, commented: \"The old website was very popular but needed updating and refreshing. We saw our job as very much retaining all the best aspects of the old site while at the same time improving accessibility, navigations, and embracing the very latest technology.\"
The agency has also created a new site for the Learning Skills Councils (LSC) to allow it to communicate with its audience better. The new site - www.lsc.gov.uk - provides access to up to date information about the organisation, with a new structure making it simpler to navigate and more responsive.
It is also about to support multiple websites, reducing the total cost of ownership of separate LSC sites. Manning said: \"The functionality of the refreshed website emphasises the commitment we have towards meeting the specific needs of our clients.\"
LSC director of communications, Rob Wye, said: \"The new website exemplifies how the LSC is committed to working even more efficiently and effectively for businesses, providers and partners.\"
