Industry speculation is rife that Leeds-based Propaganda has resigned the ghd marketing account.
Propaganda began working with Jemella – the hair styling brand’s parent company – in 2003, two year’s after the brand was launched in the UK. However, a number of industry sources have speculated that the agency has resigned the business for unknown reasons.
The ghd brand is believed to have commenced an agency search. According to one source, “there is currently a longlist of agencies, which will be whittled down to a shortlist in the coming weeks.” Some of these agencies are expected to be inviited to pitch for the account.
Propaganda has refused to comment on the speculation, while ghd marketing manager Sarah Deacon was unavailable at the time of going to press.
In 2003, Propaganda chairman Julian Kynaston was appointed as ghd’s marketing director, a post he is expected to relinquish following the resignation decision.
The news comes just five months after Propaganda was reappointed for a further year by the firm.
At the time, speculation was mounting that the relationship was coming to an end.
