Alan Frame, founding partner of the Glasgow-based advertising agency Frame, has died suddenly at the age of fourty-four.
The agency boss died last Sunday, 25 February, at his home in Bothwell, having just returned from a jog.
Frame founded his agency in 1989, and enjoyed success, winning high profile accounts such as Subway, Dundee University and Scottish & Newcastle UK.. It most recently worked on relaunch campaigns for the latter’s veteran brands McEwan’s and Bulmers.
The agency was also recognised as Marketing Services Company of the Year in 2006 and topped client and peer polls in 2005. Frame also became known for cultivating creativity and enjoys a reputation as a stimulating place to work.
Prior to launching his marketing career, Frame was a professional squash player, making his debut representing Scotland in Auckland, New Zealand in 1983. He also enjoyed football and golf.
Frame himself was well-known for his charity work, and climbed Mount Kilimanjaro along with eight industry colleagues last year in aid of Beanfeast, a charity for mentally disabled children.
Richard Sowerby, chairman of Frame and an ex-client commented: “Alan was a true inspiration to all who knew him and was also a great personal friend. He will be sadly missed by all at Frame and all who worked with us. Our thoughts just now are especially with his family.”
Alan is survived by two young daughters.
