Welsh outdoors goes online with Reading Room

Reading Room has launched a new website for the Countryside Council of Wales (CCW) following an extensive period of research.
The Manchester-based digital specialist has been working with the council to create a website that will appeal to a large audience, from adults and children to businesses. The main objective of the site is to enable audiences to discover the natural heritage of the Welsh countryside.
CCW started working with Reading Room on the project in November 2005. The website has been developed using the new web standards to provide disabled users with a fully interactive experience. It uses interactive web-mapping tools (meeting the Royal National Institute of the Blind guidance) and software which allows users to explore walking routes.
Rob Owen, CCW’s head of communication, said: “After a lot of research, the website has been designed from the reader’s point of view, making it easy to roam around without getting lost.”
