Union Direct has announced that Gus Chalmers, client services director at the agency has been promoted to the role of managing director in the wake of Union Direct MD Daniel Clare.
Clare left at the end of May to to take up consultancy work following two years at Union Direct.
Ian McAteer, chairman of Union Direct said, “We’re sorry to lose Daniel, and I wish him all the best. The team he helped bring in is well placed to continue to build on the success we’ve had recently. I’m especially pleased that Gus has agreed to take on the leadership role as I know he will do an excellent job. Everyone who knows Gus knows that he has impeccable direct marketing credentials. Gus led the VisitScotland pitch and had demonstrated over the last few years his talent for developing strong client relationships and a sound commercial brain.”
Meanwhile, The Union’s first work for Glasgow’s Commonwealth Games bid has been unveiled.
The large outdoor poster is positioned overlooking the city’s George Square and features several swimmers at the beginning of the race alongside nine year old swimmer Melissa Thomas, illustrating future representatives at the games.
This is the first poster of the campaign. The will feature athletics will run near to the Kingston Bridge.
