Ocean Outdoor unveils Games congratulations

Ocean’s George Square digital screens are providing the backdrop to Glasgow’s celebration of winning the 2014 Commonwealth Games. The announcement that Glasgow has been chosen over Nigerian city Abuja was made at 12:45 by the Commonwealth Games Federation.

Each day this week the George Square screens have been displaying a unique creative, counting down to the announcement.

For the next 12 hours, Ocean has handed over the screens to Glasgow City Council to help the city mark the momentous occasion. A technical team was on stand-by to implement the changeover.

"This is the perfect example of how digital media can steal a march over traditional forms – providing that media owners are geared up to servicing the needs of clients," commented Damian Cox, Ocean’s managing director.

The screens at George Square are the largest digital screens in Scotland, flanking Scotland’s largest banner.
