Peter gillespie walks from Talk 107 to launch new digital start-up venture

Peter Gillespie, managing director of speech-based radio station Talk107 is set to leave the station at the end of the year.

Gillespie will resign from the Edinburgh-based talk radio station, which he helped launch, to start a new online media business.

Gillespie said: “My plan was always to dedicate two years to talk107 before going back into new media and I now have the ideas and significant investment in place to do this early next year.

“I will be sad to leave talk107, but I know that it’s in safe hands with UTV and a great team. My replacement and ongoing significant investment is in place to continue to grow the station.”

As part of the transition Matt Allitt, who is currently client services director of UTV Radio, will be taking over as MD of Talk107 and will join next week to aid a smooth hand over.
