TBWA\\Manchester is believed to have won the lucrative brand guidelines contract for Manchester United Football Club.
The footballing giant has refused to discuss the deal, while the agency was unavailable for comment at the time The Drum went to press. It is believed appointment followed a creative pitch, while work is expected to begin immediately.
The new business success would cap off a successful month for the agency, which recently unveiled Victoria Worrall as its new business and marketing director.
Worrall is the former new business director of DDB London, where she worked on the likes of Speedo and Orange. In her new role, Worrall will be working with and reporting to the TBWA\\ exec team of Robert Harwood-Matthews, Fergus McCallum and Paul Tinker.
“I’m excited to be joining a group of passionate, down to earth people in an agency on a clear upward trajectory,” she said as the news was announced.
The agency has also secured the talents of online industry commentator and regular contributor to The Drum’s web forum, ‘Northern Planner’.
Northern Planner is the alias of Andrew Hovells, who joins the Manchester-based agency from Public in Doncaster. His client experience includes DFS, Redrow Homes, Netto and Sleepmasters. Hovells will take on the role of strategic planner.
