Lucid has lost two of its staff to SMG’s voluntary redundancy scheme.

Production manager Lorna Menzies and producer Lesley Weir have accepted voluntary redundancy from SMG as part of its bid to save £2.5m from its wage sheet.

Both Daniel Healy, head of production, and producer Gill Hanlon remain with the production company.

A spokesperson for SMG admitted that redundancies had been made but would not comment further on the subject. However, they refuted speculation that SMG Commercial would merge with Lucid, saying: “Lucid’s remit is focusing on servicing the Scottish market and has a very clear role, which Daniel is focusing on. There will be no change to Lucid, which will continue as normal. In terms of a merger, there are no plans. Lucid is a clear brand and the Commercial team is working away on its remit.”
