Glorious scoops airport project

Design / England & Wales

Carlisle Airport has appointed Glorious Creative to support its reposition as ‘the airport for the Lakes’ and renaming to Carlisle Lake District Airport.

The former RAF airfield is owned by WA Developments – the firm founded by Andrew Tinkler, the entrepreneur behind haulage firm Eddie Stobart.

The £25m plan is currently with Carlisle City Council, with a decision expected in March.

Alison Schmutz, aviation co-ordinator at Carlisle Airport, said: “We’ve been working closely with Glorious and a few other agencies who we’ve traditionally worked with, developing a marketing strategy which reflects our beautiful location.”
