Westland driven to move account to new agency

Advertising / England & Wales

Gardening brand, Westland has moved its marketing account away from TBWA\\Manchester and into start-up agency, driven.

As first reported on The Drum, driven was launched earlier this month by Nick Brookes, Neil Griffiths, Chris Lear and Graham Drury - who is currently working a period of notice at TBWA.

The account, which driven says will carry a £3m media spend, will require the agency to handle brand development and through-the-line communications, including TV advertising and packaging design.

Keith Nicholson, marketing director for Westland, said: “We have worked with some of the guys at driven before. So we knew what they were capable of. With driven, they showed us the value of what you get when you combine the hunger and drive of a new agency, with really talented and experienced people working on your business every day. In the end, it was a proposition we couldn’t really resist”.

Nick Brookes, partner at driven, added: “This is a great start for us. Westland is a hugely ambitious company, who have really bought into us as a marketing partner, not merely a communications supplier. Like all clients, their number one priority from marketing is results. Like us, they understand that the best way to get results is to exploit the agency’s creative capabilities and experience on more than just their advertising.\"
