Principles considers agency restructurePrinciples considers agency restructure

Principles Agency has confirmed the departure of board director, Katie Johnston, but denied rumours of redundancies at the business

Industry sources claim Johnston has been made redundant, but while Principles managing director Mike Hackett confirmed the departure, he said the terms of Johnston’s parting were “amicable and mutual.”

Just five months after Johnston’s appointment, Hackett would only say that her departure comes as the agency mulls over a wider restructure and denied that redundancies had been made by the company.

Hackett said: “Workshops are planned in the coming weeks as we look at a potential restructure. It’s very early days so it’s too early to suggest what this will entail.

“That said, you don’t have 21 years of success as an agency without the occasional shake-up and so that’s what we’re considering at the moment.”

Sources have suggested there is more to the changes than a simple restructure, with rumours speculating that client, Simply Be, a JD Williams brand, had been pulled. Hackett denied this had been the case.
