ASA upholds 23 complaints over ghd tv campaign
Advertising / England & Wales
After receiving 23 complaints from members of the public, including the Archdeacon of Liverpool, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has issued a ban for a TV advertising campaign promoting hair styling brand, ghd.
The ads showed glamorous women ‘praying’ that their new hairdos would help them in their amorous ambitions, while thwarting those of their rivals. The strapline for the campaign, ‘thy will be done’, used a ‘t’ that looked like a cross.
