Regional and Scottish stations go head-to-head for Sonys

Radio stations from the English regions and Scotland will slug it out for Station of the Year awards at the prestigious Sony Radio Academy Awards.

Key 103 Manchester, Liverpool’s Radio City 96.7 and Real Radio Scotland are the three nominees in the Station of the Year (one million plus) category.

Station of the Year (300,000 – one million) is again an entirely regional affair, with the winner coming from either BBC Radio Nottingham, GWR Bristol or Teeside’s TFM Radio.

Macclesfield-based Silk FM will compete with Northern Ireland’s BBC Radio Foyle and BBC Guernsey for the Station of the Year (under 300,000) award.

The winners will be revealed at the 26th Sony Radio Academy Awards Ceremony on Monday 12 May at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.

The full list of nominees across all categories, including UK Station of the Year, can be viewed here.
