New Bulmers campaign launches through Frame

A new national TV advertising campaign for Bulmers Original Cider is set to launch ahead of summertime.

The 30 second advertisements, entitled 'Our Summer' broke on Monday 5 May, and will be broadcast nationally on terrestrial and satellite channels.

'Bulmers, Squeezing the best out of the British Summer' is the strapline to the advert.

The new creative work is part of a £20million marketing programme which includes outdoor posters and press activity and the brands biggest trial campaign.

Alistair Cook and Rob David directed the new advert, which was produced by Mustard Films. Media Planning and buying for the campaign is being handled by MediaVest.

Graeme McKenzie, marketing manager for Bulmers at Scottish & Newcastle, said; “The campaign is built around the proposition that the unpredictable nature of the British summer brings out the resourceful and optimistic side of our character and the new 30 second film captures the uniquely British approach to the unpredictable weather perfectly.”

 

Angus Walker, creative director at Frame, continued; “The Born for Ice migrating bottles commercial was a hard act to follow. The challenge was even greater because we were working to a new, deeper insight. As a British cider, Bulmers understands the peculiarly British approach to the unpredictable summer and how we do all we can to squeeze the best out of it. Rob and Al were the perfect choice to direct the film. Being documentary makers, they instinctively knew how to capture these truthful moments, and the inherent humour in each one.”
