TBWA\Manchester launches Westland Resolva ad

Hot on the heels of Driven's new Westland TV ad, TBWA\Manchester has unveiled a new campaign for Resolva, Westland's weed killer brand.

Earlier this week, The Drum revealed Westland’s new TV work with recent start-up agency Driven.

TBWA\ has partnered up with Aardman, the award-winning animators behind Wallace & Gromit, for the 30” ad which aims to highlight how Resolva 24H can rid your garden of weeds for good. The ad features an exasperated gardener who has tried everything to get rid of weeds, which have been brought to life with mischievous personalities by Aardman, before eventually turning to Resolva 24H.  The ad will screen on both digital and terrestrial channels for five weeks. Stephan Majoram, director at Aardman Animations, explained: “I was quite taken by the script, which painted the weeds as really cheeky, annoying pests. I could see there was a lot of room for humour and a chance to make the weeds into real characters that the audience would love to hate. “It’s always nice to get a chance of doing some baddies. It’s just a shame they all have to die in the end.”
