Bruce leaves Tennent’s PR role as 1885 launches

Rob Bruce, the PR manager at Tennent’s Caledonian has left the Glasgow-based brewery without a job to go to.

Bruce, a high profile figure who oversaw promotions that included T in the Park, sponsorships and general brand activity, had been with the company for around eight years.

However, both parties were tight-lipped about the circumstances surrounding the issue due to the severence agreement agreed.

A spokesperson for Inbev commented; “The move is entirely amicable, and Rob has decided to leave for personal reasons.”

However, several industry insiders have indicated that clashes of personalities within the senior management team of Tennent’s, which is owned by InBev, may have been a factor in his departure.

During his time at Tennent’s, Bruce oversaw the promotion of the brands sponsorship of the Scottish Cup and then its sponsorship of the Scottish national football team, as well as the launch of music festivals, T in the Park, Tryptic, T on the Fringe and several high-profile marketing campaigns.

Meanwhile, Tennent’s has launched a new advertising campaign, created by Newhaven, for its stronger strength lager, Tennent’s 1885, available in Scotland for the first time.
Internationally renowned photographer, Eddo Hartmann was responsible for the imagery for the outdoor campaign, which launched this week for the new, premium quality lager.
