STV's online revolution is gathering speed as the broadcaster unveils a host of new senior recruits to its digital department.
The digital team – headed up by Alistair Brown, head of new media for STV, who was general manager of The Scotsman’s site before moving onto The List – has grown his team by seven, including four former Scotsman.com employees.
Kevin Hall has been named head of product/web development, joining from The Scotsman where he was digital news product manager. Prior to this, Kevin worked for three years as a VSO volunteer consultant for the Sri Lanka Scientific and Technical Information Centre.
Other previous employees of The Scotsman’s digital team joining STV are senior web developer, David Low, Robert Dawson Scott as web editor and Will Springer, a former journalist at Johnston Press who will act as news web producer. Springer has also worked for the Wall Street Journal online and The Sports Network. Elin Svennson joins from Cartoon Network Nordic as web producer while David Gallagher will be senior web designer having previously worked for brands such as Tiso.com, Scottish Widows, Blackhorse Finance, Network Rail and Warburtons.
Alistair Brown joined STV at the start of the year from The List to head up the development of stv.tv and told The Drum that there are still more employees to join the team in the near future.
