Caledonian MacBrayne has announced that David Cannon is to become its new public affairs manager.

Cannon, who will be based at the company’s Gourock headquarters is a qualified journalist who trained at the Edinburgh Evening News and at BBC Radio Scotland.

Lawrie Sinclair, Managing Director of CalMac, said; "David has worked in  both public and private sectors for nearly 30 years, the last 17 of which  were at economic development agency, Scottish Enterprise in Glasgow.

"It is an exciting time to be joining CalMac, which attaches great importance to its communications with its customers, partners and stakeholders, and David will bring a wealth of experience to this role."
