Six posters for furniture retailer DFS have been cleared by the Advertising Standards Authority following a complaint that the 'half price' posters were ‘misleading’.
The campaign, created by Uber, read “Get half free at dfs”.
The company said that each poster advertised a specific sofa being cut in half and confirmed that all of the sofas featured were half price.
The ASA agreed that this was the case and also noted that it did not state that all sofas were half price in the adverts.
“We noted there had been only one complaint and considered that consumers would understand from the claim ‘Get half free at dfs’ that the half price offer referred only to the sofa shown in each poster,” read the statement.
As a result, no further action is to be taken on the matter.
