STV appoints head of entertainment and factual

STV has announced the appointment of Paul Murray, a highly experienced UK producer, as its new head of entertainment & factual to join the Content team, led by Alan Clements.

Murray’s successful TV career spans over 15 years. Most recently he was a series editor with Crackit Productions.

This is Alan Clements’ first major appointment since starting his role as director of content earlier this month.  Clements is undertaking a review of the Content business and will shortly be confirming plans that will further strengthen stv’s content output.

This newly created role will see Murray made responsible for all entertainment and factual productions to support the growth of stv’s network business.

Speaking on the appointment, Clements, said; “I am thrilled that Paul is joining the team, he is a huge creative talent in the genres of entertainment and factual. Rich, quality content is critical to the success of stv as we aim to become a key provider to all network channels. With Paul’s strong track record he will be an invaluable member of the team.”

Meanwhile, The Drum understands that John McDougall has left STV after five months working as client services director.

The Drum understands that John McDougall, client services director at STV has departed after five months at the company.

It is understood that decision was a mutual one between McDougall and the company without a job to go to and was taken earlier this week.

McDougall joined STV in May from The Union where he built a highly respected reputation as an account director.
