Leeds' newest sports agency, Blue Crocodile, has announced its appointment by Castleford Tigers to promote the Super League rugby team's future commercial and sponsorship opportunities.

The agency, which is the brainchild of former Yorkshire and England cricketer Richard Blakey and An Agency Called England chief executive, Tony Stanton, will be working with the Tigers to maximise revenue opportunities, with particular regard to the club's new stadium in Glasshoughton, due for completion in 2010.

Blue Crocodile will also be involved in securing naming rights for the new stadium.

Richard Wright, chief executive of Castleford Tigers, said: "The new stadium will be a real boost for Castleford Tigers, but it is also an asset we must use as effectively as possible to the benefit of the community.

“Richard and Tony have impressive track records and by working with them the club will be in a position to explore the full range of opportunities and new ideas.”

With the impending new stadium, Blakey believes the club is 'ideally positioned' to capitalise on Super League's growing popularity. He said: “Blue Crocodile will work closely with the team and its management to enhance the club profile and income.”

Stanton added: “The new Castleford Tigers stadium site is adjacent to Xscape in Glasshoughton, an entertainment destination which attracts more than 4 million visitors each year. It's a location with great potential, and we will be working with the club to maximise the first-class commercial opportunities that this new stadium will offer.”
