The People's History Museum appoints True North

The People’s History Museum in Manchester has appointed True North to work on its re-branding ready for when it re-opens in late 2009 following a multi million pound expansion.

Manchester-based True North's experience in the museums sector – it is currently re-branding Bristol’s Museums Galleries & Archives Service as well as branding the new Museum of Bristol – is understood to have impressed the client. Karen Moore, marketing officer at The People's History Museum, said: “[True North's] portfolio of creative work for past clients is very impressive.

“We are looking forward to working together to create a stunning identity and generating awareness, interest and visits for the new museum when we re-open in late 2009.”

Martin Carr, managing director, True North, said: “The People’s History Museum occupies a unique emotional place in hearts and minds but has suffered from a degree of confusion with non-visitors as to its purpose. As well as its content, its high-profile location in Manchester City Centre and its dramatic extension offer a platform for an all-new approach.”
