Talk 107 put up for sale

Talk 107 has been put up for sale by owners UTV less than three years after the station was bought over.

The station has struggled to capture the attention of listeners ever since its launch and this year lost some of its highest profile presenters including Tommy Sheridan who announced that he was to sue the station in July for breach of contract and Scotty McClue who is now at Hamilton based L107.

A spokesman for UTV said: "We are looking to sell the business as a going concern. There were 15 applications for the original licence in 2004, so it is obviously popular and we are hopeful of finding a buyer."

The station was not 'bought over'!? UTV won the licence and launched it from scratch.
