Manchester agency Taylor O'Brien is working with the Helping Uganda Schools (HUGS) charity, which aims to make a difference to the education of children in Uganda.

Taylor O'Brien is donating its time to help HUGS create a new identity, website and a range of promotional materials to support  the charity's efforts.

The new identity will help HUGS create awareness and ultimately raise the funds required to help educate children across Uganda. It will also help achieve the next goal of building a secondary school in Mubende, where 90 percent of primary school leavers have no secondary school to go to.

The HUGS project started in 1995 and since then has built one school in Uganda and assists another. Its third school, The Good Shepherd School for Special Needs Children, was started at the end of 2008 with 20 children, and will grow over the future months. This is the first special needs school in the West of Uganda.

The school buildings and infrastructure are all sustainable using water catchment projects, solar (photo voltaic) power and bio gas for heat and light.

Helen Taylor, creative director, Taylor O'Brien, said: "To be involved in such an incredible project has been a huge pleasure and privilege for Taylor O’Brien.

"We are confident that with the new identity and increased presence, HUGS will be proudly opening its new secondary school in 2016.”
