Basestation, the Edinburgh-based web design and brand consultancy, has announced that co-founder Ian Moran is to leave the company after six years.

Moran founded Basestation along with Paul Morris in 2002.

The digital company works for a number of clients AMA Homes, Indigo, Disentis Sedrun Tourismus AG, Kellogg’s, The Scottish Football Association, Anatom,  Axiom Advocates and Life is Good.

Paul Morris, who will continue to lead the company as the sole director, said: “I am sad to see Ian go as he has been an important part of Basestation’s success since the beginning but I respect his decision. I wish him all the luck in the world for the future.

“With a growing client base and a number of exciting new projects in the pipeline, Basestation continues to fulfill our founding philosophy that web sites can be both attractive and deliver functionality that exceeds the clients’ expectations. With more companies making the internet their place of work rather than the shop or the office, a new generation of business leaders is looking to the services we can offer.”

Ian Moran added: “Paul and I are proud of what we’ve achieved with Basestation.  But we all need new challenges and recovering from an illness earlier this year gave me time to consider my future plans. As a result, I decided to move on and make some fundamental changes to my life.

“Whilst I still wish to be involved in creative work, I hope that I will now have time to realise some of my other dreams, starting with renovating a property in France, something we have always wanted to do but never quite got round to doing. I wish Paul and the team all the best for the future and I am happy to leave the company in his safe hands.”
