Brewdog has won its battle with drinks regulator The Portman Group which could have seen the Aberdeen microbrewery forced to take its products off of retailer’s shelves.

The two had been in dispute following claims that the Aberdeen based microbrewery’s packaging and marketing promoted excessive drinking and potentially breached The Portman Group’s official code of conduct.

However, it was found that the three ale products, Riptide, Punk IPA and Hop Rocker were all cleared by the Independent Complaints Panel and will now no longer be under threat of being taken off of shelves.

In November, James Watt managing director of Brewdog called for The Portman Group to be scrapped following claims that it was ‘making an example’ of small, independent brewers.
